Wenge (Millettia laurentii) is medium brown, sometimes with a reddish or yellow hue, and black streaks – and when finished can be used as 'faux ebony'. Interestingly, because of Wenge's distinctive color, "wenge" has become standardized in modern color systems. This tropical wood is native to Central Africa. Prices are likely to remain high based on demand.
