Helen P. Carroll
March 2016

The arts have long been a part of Helen's life. A classically trained musician, Helen was the principle bass player for the indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Having mastered the art of fabric quilting, this led her to take a class in paper quilting at the Indianapolis Art Center. Then onto challenging herself by expanding into larger, highly intricate pieces of paper art. A lot goes into the process. A fearlessness for creating, an eye for color,  an imagination for shapes and perhaps a slight gift for tedium. Helen resides in Broad Ripple and is a member of the Broad Ripple Village Association Board.

Jack Wickes
December 2015

"A few months after our oldest child was born, many years ago, my wife and I purchased a high quality camera, which we really could not afford. We had that camera for many years and used it to take many wonderful photos as our daughters grew up. As I captured their growing up on film, I became more interested in and attentive to lighting and composition. And when photographing people, I became more attuned to and interested in making them look good, the way i saw them.

Contrast, Color and Composition-generally, each of my photos will have a strength in one of these qualities if not all three. Take a look and see if you agree. As for portraits, my goal remains to make people look good, to allow their character and dignity to be highlighted."

Jessica Green
October 2015

I’m Jessica, and I’m on a mission to paint 500 paintings.  I’ve never done anything like this before, but I want to grow in my painting ability--and this is a challenge that will give me motivation to take my desire more seriously! So, I'm setting out in a spirit of discipline to try to improve my skills and also grow in my love for painting. Here it goes!!!
My professional background is in elementary art education. I was public school art teacher for seven years and in 2010, I started Art Venture LLC, which is my little art teaching gig. But most importantly, I’m a mom of two wonderful kiddos...who strives to love and follow God each day while maintaining a messy house, connecting with friends, & loving my kids and husband.
